Hello! And welcome to Mending Memories for PDA families!
I am so glad you found us. Because if you are looking for help, then life must be really hard for you right now. Being a parent to one or more PDA children, is extremely challenging. It asks a lot from us; a lot that we have never been taught. A lot more than people without PDA children can ever imagine.
Through offering support services to parents of PDA kids & teens, I aim to help families achieve an equilibrium where big feelings are still going to be present, but where parents feel equipped so that these feelings are accepted, tolerated and supported.
I will support parents to find a balance; where they know that hard moments are always going to be part of the journey, but they will be balanced with many fun times, warm connections & trust and increased opportunities to create positive memories within the family.
Parents deserve to look back with pride and contentment on their parenting journey truly knowing they did the best they could with the resources that were available to them.
This life doesn't have to turn into one big trauma. I want to help you mend your memories. We can do this through reprocessing past traumatic experiences as well as focusing on creating new positive ones.
Feel free to reach out if you think Mending Memories can help you in any way!
- My name is Linda.
- I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with 20 years of experience working in the community with people from all walks of life.
- I am the face behind Mending Memories for PDA Families.
- Besides being a professional with a lot of theoretical knowledge about mental health, trauma & attachment and parenting, I am also a mother of 2 PDA children; a 3 year old girl and an almost 5 year old boy. Exactly, one year ago, I discovered that my son's neurotype is PDA after he started at a new kindy. It was a horrible time in our lives, which involved a lot of meltdowns, aggression, confusion and despair.
- I have taken a real deep dive into the world of PDA the entire year of 2025, so I could truly understand what is going on for my child. I have learned so much since then!
- Through doing many masterclasses held by Kristy Forbes and completing the Paradigm Shift Program from At Peace Parents (designed by Casey Erlich), I have discovered that I am PDA myself, and that my daughter is PDA too.
- And now that we have found a way through the dark forest, I want to focus on helping other parents with children with the PDA Neurotype.
- I feel very passionate about supporting children's wellbeing, as I know what it is like growing up as a (Neurodivergent) child and not having your needs met.
- Not to put blame on my parents, because they simply didn't know.
- But we, today, can make a different choice for our kids.
- And I am here to help parents with just that.
